Our growing company is seeking an energetic, positive, and reliable Accounting Clerk to support our Business Services team.
Responsibilities
- Perform payroll functions in an accurate and timely manner.
- Perform all activities related to the accounts payable function including reviewing, coding, and processing payments.
- Provide accounting and clerical support and assistance to the Finance team.
- Process and enter invoices, expense reports and other financial transactions into NetSuite financials.
- Process customer invoicing and credits as required.
- Prepare cheque and EFT runs to ensure employees, contractors and vendors are paid as directed.
- Analyzing and preparing bank deposits on an as needed basis.
- Prepares periodic bank reconciliations.
- Process employee expense reports and credit card statements.
- Assists with year-end accounting duties as required.
- Maintains records by accurately filling all accounting related documents.
- Performs other work as assigned by the Business Services Manager or other Senior Management
- Has a solid understanding of bookkeeping and Canadian accounting principles.
- Must be tech-savvy and have hands-on experience with a good working knowledge of NetSuite Financials.
- Demonstrated Intermediate level Excel skills.
- A team player who has a can-do attitude, a common-sense approach, and a sense of urgency to see tasks through to completion.
- Must be organized, enthusiastic and professional who is self-motivated, flexible, adaptive and works under minimum direction with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail ensuring accuracy.
- Excellent time management skills and can effectively manage competing priorities ensuring work is completed within expected deadlines.
- Confident communicator, with excellent written and verbal English communications skills.
- Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Effective problem analysis and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
- Relevant Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 1-3 years of proven Canadian bookkeeping/accounting experience.
- Solid understanding of bookkeeping and Canadian accounting principles.
- Must be tech-savvy and have hands-on experience with a good working knowledge of NetSuite Financials.
- Demonstrated Intermediate-level Excel skills.
- A team player with a can-do attitude, a common-sense approach, and a sense of urgency to complete tasks.
