Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Site Superintendent / Working Foreman to join our field operations team. The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day job site activities and work closely with Project Managers to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project schedules and specifications. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to manage crews, documentation, and site logistics.
Responsibilities
Project Execution
Ensure project progress meets established schedules and milestones.
Maintain compliance with contract requirements and specifications.
Prepare and maintain site documentation and records.
Coordinate and communicate with owners, consultants, and engineers.
Workforce Management
Lead crews by example and promote a positive work environment.
Provide guidance and mentorship to team members regarding safety, quality, and productivity.
Resolve conflicts and maintain effective communication among crews and stakeholders.
Health, Safety & Quality
Ensure adherence to company safety and quality programs.
Conduct and document toolbox talks and safety meetings.
Perform regular site inspections and maintain safety records.
Monitor equipment usage and maintain required logs.
Project Controls & Documentation
Support monthly progress reporting and project documentation.
Gather and document site information related to change orders and project updates.
Assist with crew planning and resource requirements.
Leadership & Communication
Assign daily work activities and communicate project expectations to crews.
Promote teamwork and maintain strong site morale.
Implement corrective actions when required.
Attend site meetings and provide regular project updates.
Qualifications
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a Site Superintendent, Foreman, or similar leadership role.
Experience in marine construction is considered an asset.
CET or Construction Management diploma is an asset.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Strong planning, organizational, and communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and cloud-based document management systems.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Additional Responsibilities
Prepare or review shift production reports.
Submit weekly crew timesheets and project updates.
Maintain safety and QA/QC documentation.
Support staffing and crew scheduling requirements.
Participate in regular site and coordination meetings.
