The Position:
For this Full-Time position located in Oakville, ON at Salvation Army Thrift Store Donor Centre.
Bank & Vogue is looking for a vintage enthusiast who loves sustainable fashion & thrifting! They will have a great eye for detail & will be responsible for selecting clothing that matches our color, size, fit and quality that meet our seasonal catalog requirements! You will sort through 2000 pieces to keep 1 hidden gem! Though you are hired under our Canadian based Bank & Vogue company, you are looking for great fashion items we can sell in our UK and Sweden Vintage stores - Beyond Retro. We are a trend driven vintage shop. You will take inspiration from fashion runways, global street trends, editorials and our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Select product based on a catalogue that meets our requirements
- Reach daily vintage picking targets when working in rag houses
- Understand the best way to utilise the sections in rag houses according to production
- Package finished product for shipping (boxing, labelling, skidding product) and send in paperwork to head office when needed
- Continuous understanding of the vintage grade, including sizing and condition that we require for our stores
- Continuous improvements in the quality
- Required Skills/Experience:
- Minimum 1 year relevant fashion experience
- Applicable vintage, fashion or thrifting experience
- An ability to work independently in a fast paced warehouse/rag house environment
- Can lift up to 50 lbs
- Good organizational skills with ability to identify and follow through on priorities
- Self-motivated, flexible, very organized, detail-oriented, a strong problem solver; and able to work well under pressure
- Can stand for extended periods of time
- Willingness to travel valid passport & drivers licence required (International travel)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
