We seek a dedicated and experienced Personal Injury Law Clerk or Paralegal to join our reputable legal practice and contribute to our client's success stories.
Position Overview.
The Tort Law Clerk will support our team by managing case files, preparing legal documents, assisting with various administrative tasks related to the tort claims. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of personal injury law, will be someone dependable and with high attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities and Duties.
- Case Management: Assist in the management of accident benefit and tort files from intakes to resolution, tracking deadlines and maintaining organized records.
- Document Preparation: Prepare and file legal documents, including but not limited to pleadings, affidavits, memorandums, mediation and pre-trial memos. Draft correspondence to clients, opposing counsel and other parties involved.
- Client Interaction: Communicate and interact with clients to gather information, update them on case progress and address any concerns. Always maintaining a high level of professionalism.
- Communications: Interact and communicate with insurance adjusters, lawyers and other third parties as needed to facilitate the production of documents.
- Administrative Duties: General administrative duties such as scheduling, managing calendar, answering phones and handling mail.
- File Management: Scanning documents, making sure all the documents are properly stored on their appropriate files and in compliance with legal and firm standards.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication both verbally and written.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Great Interpersonal skills.
- Computer skills and knowledge of the Microsoft office suite.
- Experience with uLaw is an asset.
Qualifications.
- Education: Completion of an accredited Law clerk or Paralegal program.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience with Tort cases.
