Our client is a well-established Canadian manufacturer of specialized heavy equipment serving the underground mining industry through an established dealer network across North America and internationally. Known for engineering excellence, innovation, and customer support, the company designs and manufactures equipment built for the demanding environments of underground mining.
Due to an upcoming retirement, our client is seeking an experienced North American Sales & Marketing Manager to lead the commercial strategy for its capital equipment business across Canada and the United States.

About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager, the North American Sales & Marketing Manager is responsible for leading all sales and marketing activities for the company's capital equipment business throughout Canada and the United States.
Working closely with an established dealer network, internal sales team, and senior leadership, you will develop and execute commercial strategies that drive sustainable growth, strengthen dealer performance, and expand market share.
As a key member of the leadership team, you will oversee four core areas:
- Sales Leadership
- Dealer Network Management
- Product Management
- Marketing
This is a leadership role within a growing manufacturing organization where you'll have the opportunity to influence both commercial strategy and long-term business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute annual sales and marketing plans in collaboration with senior leadership.
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop the sales team to achieve business objectives.
- Manage and support an established dealer network across Canada and the United States.
- Organize quarterly dealer meetings and annual dealer conferences.
- Support dealer business planning, sales growth, and market expansion.
- Build strong relationships with key mining customers and strategic accounts.
- Manage major account negotiations, pricing, and commercial agreements.
- Implement and oversee CRM systems and other sales management tools.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and market share.
- Develop accurate sales forecasts and revenue projections.
- Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to support new product introductions and ongoing product improvements.
- Coordinate marketing initiatives including website management, trade shows, customer events, and promotional activities.
- Develop and deliver training programs for internal sales staff and dealer partners.
- Lead Voice of Customer (VOC) initiatives to support continuous product and service improvement.
- Prepare regular sales reports, KPI tracking, and business performance updates.
- Manage sales promotion and trade show budgets.
- Travel throughout Canada and the United States as required.
Qualifications
We're looking for an experienced commercial leader with a proven background in mining or heavy equipment sales.
Ideal candidates will have experience in one or more of the following:
- Underground mining utility equipment
- Underground mining production equipment
- Underground mining consumables (ground support, drilling tools, explosives, etc.)
- Open pit mining equipment
- Heavy industrial, construction, or agricultural equipment
Additional qualifications include:
- Minimum five years of sales leadership experience within mining or heavy equipment industries.
- Proven experience leading, coaching, and developing sales teams and dealer representatives.
- Experience managing dealer networks and supporting dealer growth.
- Strong knowledge of territory management and sales planning.
- Experience forecasting sales performance and managing business pipelines.
- Strong commercial negotiation and key account management skills.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
- Experience with CRM systems and sales reporting.
- Established network within the mining industry is considered a strong asset.
- University degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
- French and/or Spanish language skills are considered an asset.
