Overview
We are seeking a general laborer that can assist with in shop duties as well as assist / apprentice our skilled Service Technicians. Our company is in essential services and continues to grow on a year over year basis. In this role, you will be responsible for servicing industrial and commercial heat exchangers. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, as well as some computer literacy (MS Word, Outlook, etc). We focus on compensating staff based on performance and merit. Responsibilities
- Cleaning, testing, repairing plate & frame, shell & tube heat exchangers and fin style air coolers
- Verify service has been completed to quality control specifications
- Check that all equipment is in safe working condition
- Perform general physical activities – loading, unloading, sorting and moving shipments by hand or by using material handling equipment
- Inspect shipment contents and compare with records to verify accuracy of shipment
- Package, seal, and label materials to prepare for shipping.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to complete repairs safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of service while maintaining high-quality standards.
Qualifications
- Any type of college and/or Trade Certification/Recognition is preferred (i.e.: welding, rigging, etc.)
- Proficient computer skills (including Word, Outlook and Excel), including working with tablets and cameras
- Strong organizational skills
- Interactive communication skills
- Ability to problem solve, adapt, and work with change
- Ability to follow directions and procedures
- Detail oriented
- Self-disciplined
- Valid Driver’s license / Clean driving abstract (Minimum 5 years driving experience with at least class G license)
- Forklift certified or be willing to take a certification course
- Job specific training will be provided however preferred candidates will also possess;
- Mechanical experience (working with hands, industrial and construction equipment maintenance)
- Experience driving trucks and mid-size trailers is an asset
- Requires flexibility in regards to working hours (start time can fluctuate when off-site work is required, ability to start occasionally at 5am/6am)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00-$28.00 per hour
