What You Bring:
The successful candidate brings payroll administration experience along with a strong understanding of payroll legislation, payroll processing, and employee benefit programs. They are highly detail-oriented, able to maintain confidentiality, and possess strong communication and customer service skills.
Other requirements include:
- PCP designation with active membership status.
- Experience administering payroll and benefits in a complex environment.
- Knowledge of federal and provincial payroll legislation and remittance requirements.
- Experience processing payroll deductions, garnishments, retirement contributions, and records of employment.
- Strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
- Experience working with payroll systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees, managers, and external stakeholders.
- Experience working in a unionized environment and with collective agreements is considered an asset.
This position is classified as an Individual Contributor role in SMS Equipment’s competency framework, requiring demonstration of core competencies (customer focus, collaboration, and technical/functional expertise).
