As a Community Support Worker, you will have the opportunity to be a part of a team that provides support, care, and mentorship to an at-risk youth with complex mental health, behavioural challenges, and substance use. You will deliver a variety of evidence-based strategies to enhance youth’s social, emotional, and behaviour functioning in consultation with other members of the wraparound team. You will support and encourage life-skills and social development and promote inclusive programs within the community. This role will provide up to 10 hours per week, Monday-Friday, to work one-to-one with youth.
Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in a related field and/or equivalent experience working with at-risk youth
Experience working with at-risk youth with complex mental and behavioural challenges and substance use
Knowledge or experience working with Indigenous youth
Demonstrated knowledge of FASD, ADHD, and attachment and trauma issues (or desire to learn)
Clear and concise written and verbal communication
Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check
Minimum Class 7N BC Driver's License (Class 5 preferred) and acceptable driving record
Proof of COVID-19 double vaccination record or exemption from the provincial health authority
