Position Overview
Cooksville Lumber Ltd. is seeking a reliable and hardworking Part-Time Lumber Yard Associate to join our team. This position is primarily focused on yard operations, including customer service, order picking, loading materials, inventory organization, and maintaining a safe and efficient lumber yard.
Experience driving delivery vehicles is considered an asset, as occasional delivery support may be required. For the right candidate, this position offers the opportunity to transition into a full-time role.
Responsibilities
- Pick and prepare customer and contractor orders accurately.
- Load and unload lumber, building materials, and hardware products.
- Assist customers with product selection and material loading.
- Receive and organize incoming inventory.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized lumber yard.
- Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment (training provided if required).
- Perform stock checks and assist with inventory control.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Support delivery operations when required.
Qualifications
- Experience in a lumber yard, building supply store, warehouse, or similar environment preferred.
- Valid Ontario G Class driver's license required.
- Delivery truck driving experience is an asset.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Forklift experience is an asset.

Schedule
- Part-time position with potential to become full-time.
- Hours available during regular business operations.
- Excellent work-life balance with consistent hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM and Saturdays 8:00 AM–3:00 PM.
