Job Overview
We are currently hiring for a minimum of 30 hours and 3 days a week, with each shift lasting 10 hours. Candidates must be available those times to be considered. Additional shifts may be available as needed to support pharmacy operations.
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play an important role supporting daily pharmacy operations by assisting with administrative, customer service, and medication preparation. The pharmacy assistant works primarily on contributing to the safe and efficient delivery of medication, confirming the accuracy of prescriptions, and data entry.
Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently.
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries and ensuring patient needs are met.
- Process prescriptions, enter data, and manage insurance claims.
- Maintain accurate records of medication administration, inventory, and medication storage.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care in acute care settings.
- Manage inventory levels, including ordering and restocking medications as necessary.
- Follows pharmacy policies, procedures, and provincial regulations.
Requirements
- Pharmacy Assistant certificate or relevant experience preferred.
- Previous experience in a pharmacy, healthcare, or administrative setting is an asset.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration processes.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of patient service.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
