Job Description
We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a door manufacturing company in the Scarborough area, for a reliable and hardworking General Labourer with experience operating a band saw in a metal manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for cutting various metal materials to specified lengths, assisting with material handling, and supporting day-to-day production operations within the facility.

Responsibilities
- Operate horizontal and vertical band saws to cut metal materials according to work orders and specifications
- Read and interpret cut lists, work orders, and basic drawings
- Measure and verify material dimensions using tape measures and calipers
- Load, unload, and stage raw materials for production
- Perform quality checks to ensure accurate cuts and material specifications
- Deburr and prepare materials for the next stage of production
- Assist machine operators and production staff as required
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Follow all company safety procedures and policies
- Perform other general labour duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of manufacturing or metal fabrication experience
- Previous experience operating a band saw cutting steel, aluminum, or other metals is required
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately
- Experience using measuring tools such as calipers is considered an asset
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Assets
- Experience working with structural steel, tubing, pipe, or metal stock
- Forklift experience or certification
- Overhead crane experience
- Experience in a fabrication, machining, or manufacturing environment
Pay: $19.00 per hour
