Brouillette Manor Nursing Home has an exciting opportunity for a TEMPORARY Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our team. POSITION OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Administrator and the Director of Nursing (DON), the ADON shall assist the DON with supervising and directing nursing staff and personal care staff and the nursing and personal care provided by them.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify staff education needs and provide or arrange for training and education programs for direct nursing staff and personal care staff.
- Encourage professional growth and development of all nursing personnel.
- Respond to staff needs and encourage teamwork.
- Respond to and follow-up on any complaints or concerns.
- Maintain direct resident contact and involvement in resident care.
- Review resident reports/records and make rounds on a regular basis.
- Ensure department records, reports and statistics are maintained for both residents and department personnel in accordance with legislative requirements and facility policies.
- Ensure an adequate inventory of nursing supplies is available to staff.
- Participant or Program Lead/Meeting Chair for mandatory programs inclusive but not exclusive to Skin Care & Wound Management, Continence Care Management, Pain & Palliative and Infection Control.
- Participate on the Professional Advisory and Ethics Team and others as required.
- Liaise and consult with inspectors and professionals in relation to the needs/care of residents.
- Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures based on best practices and CQI.
- Complete/submit critical incidents (CIs) as per legislative requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario, and in good standing.
- Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and health care practices and techniques including courses or experience in long-term care.
- Previous managerial experience in a long-term care setting and knowledge of applicable legislation.
- Human relations skills required to handle a variety of interactions with residents, families, staff and the public.
Pay: $45.00-$55.00 per hour
