Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pharmacy Manager to oversee the daily operations of our pharmacy department. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, a commitment to patient care, and a thorough understanding of medication administration. This role is crucial in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of pharmaceutical services within our healthcare facility.
Responsibilities
- Oversee medication administration processes to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Manage and support Opioid Agonist Therapy (OAT) services, including dispensing, monitoring, patient counseling, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and best practices.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care in pediatrics, acute care, and OAT settings.
- Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, inventory, controlled substances.
- Ensure the pharmacy operates in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations regarding medical terminology, pharmaceutical practices, and OAT programs.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance pharmacy operations.
- Provide consultation to healthcare providers regarding medication therapy management, including OAT treatment plans.
Experience
- A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution is required.
- Previous experience in a pharmacy setting is preferred.
- Experience with Opioid Agonist Therapy (OAT) programs, including dispensing methadone and buprenorphine/naloxone, is considered a strong asset.
- Strong knowledge of medication administration protocols.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and its application in patient care is essential.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
