We are currently seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our Bridge Division team. This position is based out of our Head Office located in Nisku, AB
The Senior Project Manager will act as a mentor for our Project Team, and is responsible for preparing detailed estimates/tenders, cost analysis, project management, and scheduling.
What is the role?
- Review contracts concerning insurance and bonding, order bonding
- Understands and administers the contractual agreement and ensure that the company conforms to the contract document
- Plan, organize and direct the preconstruction activities including the development of cost plans and the preliminary project schedule and budget
- Understands all aspects of a project budget and deals with the owner/consultant on all cost issues
- Develops project schedules and oversees the maintenance, progress, and issuance of schedule
- Addresses all relevant issues with the appropriate correspondence in a professional manner
- Oversees the tendering and awarding of sub-trade contracts
- Prepares and manages project budgets
- Work with superintendents to manage projects including planning and organizing the crews and equipment, overseeing the work, and managing the client relationships
- Ensure project health, safety and environmental standards meet legislated requirements and company policy
- Prepare progress reports and invoices for work completed
- Project administration including pricing change orders, tracking requests for information and review drawings
- Work with management to develop annual target business strategies
- Review projects, analyzing and documenting estimated vs. actual costs, and the whole job – what was done, when, how, why. Use this data for estimating work/projects
- Identify and implement efficiencies, process improvements and ways to reduce costs;
- Develop a client base by prospecting for new clients, and/or building relationships with present clients, promoting the company and its services, negotiating and entering into construction project contracts
- Assess and provide accurate cost estimates and required documentation to obtain profitable construction/maintenance contracts, responding to business leads, or responding to requests for tender
What we value?
- Minimum 5 years of bridge construction experience
- Minimum 10 years’ experience as a Project Manager
- CET or Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering or other relevant training
- P.Eng would be considered an asset
- Working knowledge of Alberta Transportation Bridge Specifications
- Excellent computer skills; working knowledge of Bid-2-Win system would be an asset
- Minimum Class 5 Drivers licence
