Camp Arowhon is looking for a full-time summer staff member to join the cleaning and mainteance team this summer. Live on site in beautiful Algonquin Park with all meals provided. Enjoy working in a remote environment, with 550 people operating as a mini-city!
At Camp Arowhon, general cleaners are responsible for carrying out general housekeeping tasks in director and camper cabins, camp office, main dining room, shower houses and staff rec rooms.
Primary Job Description:
- Vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors
- Dust off furniture and electronic equipment
- Wash and fold laundry
- Cleaning bathrooms
- Wash windows
- Emptying garbage, recycling, and compost bins
- Refill toilet paper roll, hand washing soap, napkin, and hand sanitizer dispensers
Qualifications:
- Previous work experience cleaning or housekeeping is an asset, basic cleaning knowledge necessary
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
- Good organizational abilities and capability to prioritize and carry out tasks efficiently and thoroughly
- Must be able to carry out the physical requirements for the job

Job setting:
- Childrens summer camp in a Provincial Park, Approx 30 mins from closest store. Fantastic job setting for nature enthusiasts, you can enjoy outdoor activities in your time off.
- Please note this is a seasonal position that requires staff to live on site for the duration of employment.
- Terms of employment: minimum 9 weeks contracts available during summer months, possibility to extend contract for up to 20 weeks maximum for suitable candidates (mid May to early October).
- Room and board provided.
- Transportation to and from Toronto available at the start and end of contract.

Over 100 buildings with ~550 people living on site in summer months. Full hydro and water to cabins, all meals cooked and served in Main Lodge building. A summer camp for kids aged 5-14 in July and August and school groups/weddings in spring and fall.
