To be eligible for this position, you must meet the participant requirements under the Canada Summer Jobs Agreement with as outlined:
be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment and
have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
Note: International students are not eligible participants.
We are currently accepting applications for summer students interested in working as a Program Assistant – Education.
What you'll get to do:
- Plan, develop, and deliver online summer learning activities for children and youth
- Design and facilitate skills‑enhancement activities, including basic coding platforms, financial literacy, reading support, and arts and crafts
- Conduct outreach to recruit and engage program participants
- Support intake, screening, and registration processes for program participants
- Facilitate group learning sessions and provide coaching to support children’s learning and engagement
- Create an inclusive, supportive, and positive online learning environment
- Gather, document, and assist in analyzing participant evaluations and feedto inform program improvements
What you need to know/have:
- Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a post-secondary program in Social Services or a related field
- Experience working with children and youth in educational or community‑based programs
- Good facilitation, organizational skills and communication skills, particularly in an online learning environment
- Ability to engage learners through interactive and age‑appropriate activities
- Familiarity with digital learning tools and basic educational platforms
- Good organizational and teamwork skills
- Ability to follow safety procedures and organizational policies
- Excellent verbal and written English skills, second language is an asset
Location: 1477 Mississauga Valley Blvd Mississauga, ON
Hours: 35 per week, occasional weekends and evenings may be required.
Compensation: $17.60 per hour
