Some of what you will do
As the Compensation Analyst, you will manage the research, analysis, development, implementation and administration of compensation programs, to meet organization objectives and needs. You will provide excellent service to all levels for your assigned client group with respect to compensation policy, practices and administration. Working closely with the HR Business Partners and Leaders to provide consultative advice and analytical support on compensation related issues. You may also help support various Total Rewards programs such as our recognition program, scholarship program, service award program, and vacation purchase program. Each day will be fast-paced, challenging, rewarding and meaningful.
Specifically, you will:
Develop a deep understanding of the business and create market competitive compensation programs to help the business accomplish its objectives. Act as a consultant to the business to improve understanding of our practices and policies. Ensure that internal equity and compensation philosophies are maintained.
Manage all tasks related to the annual and semi-annual salary review process for assigned client group from process beginning to completion including data validation, calculation and communication.
Play a key role in the calculation and communication of bonus programs. Assist in the development of bonus plan documentation and quarterly updates. Analyse the effectiveness of programs and recommend changes when necessary.
Participate in job evaluation committee meetings.
Prepare a variety of special reports and analysis to monitor the integrity and competitiveness of our compensation programs
Analyse and compile compensation data to assist leadership in formulating compensation policies.
Assist in special projects related to the implementation of new HR systems and provides input into process improvement.
Use your strong technical knowledge of HRIS (preferably Peoplesoft) as well as Access and Excel to improve processes and efficiencies within the department.
Potentially assist in the administration of recognition programs, Scholarship and Service Award programs, and Vacation Purchase Program.
Potentially participate in the design, review, and communication of Associate discount opportunities like group home and auto insurance, gym memberships, Mark’s discounts etc. Ensures that total rewards offerings are up to date on the Hub, and that our employee value proposition is captured and communicated effectively.
Some of what you need
1-3 years of experience in compensation in a retail environment.
University Degree or equivalent, Completion or near completion of post graduate studies in Human Resources/Compensation. A completion or near completion of CPP designation would be an asset.
Experience designing incentives, market analysis, job evaluation and playing a consultative role.
Experience providing consultative advice to senior leaders.
Experience with sales incentive program design.
A thorough knowledge of the compensation cycle, including salary administration, surveys, market analysis.
Advanced Excel and Access skills with knowledge of merging and macros.
Prior experience with large data sets.
Excellent analytical and financial modeling skills, with an eye for detail and accuracy.
Knowledge of PeopleSoft query a definite asset.
Financial acumen and ability to synthesize data and present recommendations.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and consulting skills, with a strong customer focus.
