Job Requirements
- Have your own tools and reliable truck, van, or minivan.
- General construction and handyman experience.
- Experience performing a variety of building repairs, maintenance, and renovation work.
- Drywall installation, patching, taping, finishing, and repair experience.
- Painting experience, including preparation, touch-ups, and finishing.
- Ability to perform basic carpentry, demolition, installation, and repair work.
- Experience with general construction labour, including material handling, site preparation, and cleanup.
- Comfortable using common hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting and carrying construction materials.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to complete assigned tasks efficiently.
- Professional attitude and outstanding customer service when working at occupied properties and customer sites.
- Valid BC Driver’s Licence and clean Driver’s Abstract.
- Ability to provide a criminal record check.
- Previous experience in property restoration, renovations, or building repairs is considered an asset.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform general construction, handyman, repair, and labour duties as assigned.
- Complete minor carpentry, drywall, painting, demolition, installation, and general building repairs.
- Assist with restoration, renovation, and property repair projects.
- Load, unload, move, and organize tools, equipment, and construction materials.
- Assist skilled trades and other team members as required.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas throughout the project.
- Protect customer property and surrounding finishes while performing work.
- Complete assigned work orders and project tasks in a timely and professional manner.
- Identify site issues and communicate required repairs or additional work to the Project Manager or Foreman.
- Follow applicable municipal and provincial building requirements related to construction and repairs.
- Adhere to all company health and safety policies and procedures.
- Follow Blue Star Projects standards and procedures while working at customer sites.
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00-$34.00 per hour
