Job Summary
We are seeking a highly resourceful and skilled Operations Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling all maintenance related inquiries, performing move out inspections, and coordinating service repairs with contractors. This role requires excellent communication skills, professionalism, and a strong attention to detail.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver with a strong background in general maintenance facilities. We value professionalism, attentiveness, and a passion for delivering an outstanding guest experience.
Responsibilities
· Handle general guest maintenance requests including, but not limited to: TV and other appliance troubleshooting, lightbulb replacements, basic plumbing duties (unclogging sink drains, minor leaks ), inventory replacement, changing filters, internet connection technical issues etc.
· Perform a 3 part move out inspection for all unit check outs in a timely manner, while ensuring that the office is aware of the status. This may include a secondary follow-up once the cleaning has been completed.
· Provide entry and supervise visits to suites for mandatory building entries during fire inspections, dryer vent cleaning, etc.
· Contractor Liaison: schedule contractors for work that requires certified and specialized repairs, including plumbers and electricians, and supervise the work when entry is provided
· Provide exceptional customer service by addressing any client related concerns in the units
· Perform upkeep of our suites to ensure that they are in our 4 star standard, including: recaulking of showers and sinks, drywall patching, painting (if experience or arranging for a painter to come in)
· Maintain clear communication with the office staff on status of outstanding duties, as well as with the contracted cleaning company
· Perform meet and greets at the suites for clients that wish to have an orientation upon arrival
· Purchase inventory for suites that are missing items or need updating (pots and pans, cookie sheets, vacuums, etc.)
· Arrange for larger purchases and update the suite owners for higher ticket purchases (items like TVs, new appliances, couches)
· Meet with building managers, caretakers, and other contractors for various situations
· Work closely with the Accounting Department by submitting receipts for purchases in a timely manner, as well as preparing and submitting work orders
· Drop off and pick up of laundry bags to/from our office and laundry supplier
· Setup and Cancellation of Rogers accounts for new units and return to owner suites, including drop off of old equipment to the post office
Requirements:
· A strong customer service mindset with the ability to remain calm, positive, and solution-focused under pressure
· Keen observation skills to spot maintenance needs, paired with precision in repair and completing work
· Strong knowledge of Victoria (particularly the Downtown core) as you will be driving to various buildings throughout each day
· Ability to safely lift and carry furniture, and comfortable to use a ladder if necessary
· Excellent communication skills
· Previous experience in a hotel maintenance or engineering position is an asset but not required
· Proven ability to learn quickly, manage daily priorities, and adapt to changing circumstances
· Able to multitask in a busy environment
· Must be legally authorized to work in Canada to be considered, and currently living in Victoria
· This role requires that you are on our after hours call rotation. If an after hours emergency arises, you may need to facilitate a job outside of regular business hours. This could include a situation where a guest has misplaced their keys, and you need to meet them with a replacement set. Other examples could include a guest's smoke detector going off, and you may need to come downtown to replace the batteries.
*All situations that can be actioned during regular business hours will be scheduled accordingly, however, you may receive a call outside of hours if there is a time sensitive matter to attend to*
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid Class 5 Drivers License is required
One working SATURDAY each month to facilitate a large client turnover, handling numerous suite inspections
Immediate Full-Time Opening
One full-time position available (40 hours per week).
Primary schedule is 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday
My Health Spending Account available after probationary period
The Operations Manager will have use of the company van for on the job work
