Our lab at the Princess Margaret Genomics Centre (PMGC) is seeking a termed full-time Scientific Associate I to join our Epigenomics group. This position is funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) to investigate epigenomic makeup of cancer cells by interrogating chromatin states and 3D-genome organization. In our approach we are going to map unique epigenomics signature of cancer cells and will leverage that to discover new therapeutic compounds.
A successful candidate should have experience in the followings:
Conducting epigenomics assays (ATACseq, ChIPseq, CUT&RUN, Hi-C, HiChIP and etc.)
Conducting single cell epigenomic assays (i.e. sc-ATACseq)
Perform preliminary analysis of the generated genomics data
Be familiar with single cell genomics data interpretation
Previous experience in cell and organoid culture
Previous experience in high throughput drug screening assays is an asset
The candidate must be extremely detail oriented, knowledgeable, and have expertise in performing a variety of molecular biology and genomic experiments. The position will also require proper documentation of the results, being well organized and flexibility in working with other members of the team. Candidates should also be eager to work in a multi-disciplinary collaborative setting.
Have a strong track record in genomics, cell and molecular biology.
Hold a doctorate’s degree (MD or PhD) in a relevant field (Genomics, Bioinformatics, etc.)
Have at least a year of experimental or computational experience related to the job description.
Be looking for a collaborative and dynamic environment.
Have a proven track record of productivity and the ability to work autonomously.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work well under pressure and use good judgment in assessing difficult situations
