Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Dispatcher to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating transportation activities, managing freight schedules, and ensuring smooth communication between carriers, clients, and internal departments. Duties
- Coordinate and schedule freight shipments using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and SyteLine software.
- Manage shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate data entry and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with carriers, drivers, clients, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems and phone etiquette.
- Monitor freight movements, troubleshoot issues, and provide real-time updates to stakeholders.
- Analyze shipping data to optimize routes, reduce delays, and improve overall supply chain efficiency.
- Utilize AS400 systems for order processing and inventory management related to freight operations.
- Maintain organized records of shipments, delivery schedules, and related documentation.
- Collaborate with 3PL providers and internal departments to coordinate logistics activities seamlessly.
- Perform analysis on freight performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all dispatch activities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), SyteLine, AS400, and shipping & receiving processes.
- Strong understanding of supply chain logistics, freight management, and 3PL operations.
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy; proficient in typing and using multi-line phone systems.
- Strong analysis skills to interpret shipping data and optimize logistics workflows.
- Effective communication skills with professional phone etiquette for interacting with carriers and clients.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Prior experience in freight coordination or dispatching is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided as needed. This position requires a proactive individual capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining clear communication across various channels. The Dispatcher will be integral in ensuring the efficiency of our logistics operations through precise coordination and data management.
Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
