Why is this role important?

When our stores order product, it is up to the assembler to fill the orders by manually picking product and building 3’ x 4’ pallets of product. Each assembler is issued a voice activated headset (called a Talkman) and an electric pallet jack which can carry up to two empty pallets measuring 3’ x 4’ each. The Talkman directs the Assembler on where to go in the DC and how many cases of product to “pick” from our racking and load onto the empty pallets. Once the order has been completed, the assembler will stage the pallets on our shipping dock where they will then be loaded into a transport trailer and delivered to our stores. When the assembler confirms the order to the shipping dock the system automatically releases a new order and the entire process begins again. Here are some important facts to consider when deciding if this position is the right fit for you: • A single order is on average 200 cases spread on the two pallets • An assembler will manually lift the 200 cases and place them on the two pallets they have on their electric pallet jack • An assembler will be required to lift anywhere between 1600 to 1800 cases per 8-hour shift.
