Irrigation & Landscape Technician
Job Description
Okanagan Yard Works is one of Kelowna’s premier landscaping companies, specializing in the construction and maintenance of high-quality commercial and residential outdoor spaces.
We are currently seeking an experienced Irrigation & Landscape Technician to join our team. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has strong problem-solving skills, and can work independently with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will have experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting irrigation systems while also assisting with landscape construction projects.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial irrigation systems
- Diagnose irrigation issues including wiring, valves, controllers, sprinkler heads, leaks, and coverage problems
- Perform seasonal irrigation start-ups, winterizations, and system adjustments
- Read and interpret irrigation plans and layouts
- Assist with grading, drainage, trenching, and landscape construction projects
- Install sod, trees, shrubs, garden beds, and other landscape features
- Operate equipment including skid steers and mini excavators
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites
- Communicate professionally with team members and clients when required
Selection Criteria
- Certified Irrigation Technician Level 2 Landscape through IIABC (required)
- Must have the ability to work alone and complete tasks independently
- Previous irrigation installation and maintenance experience required
- Experience in landscaping, horticulture, or construction considered an asset
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Fit, energetic, and comfortable working in a physically demanding outdoor environment year-round
- Valid driver’s license preferred
- Good references required
