Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Full Time Stable Hand to join our team and contribute to the smooth operation of our equestrian facility. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the daily care and maintenance of horses, ensuring their health, safety, and well-being. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about working with horses and their health, and eager to develop their skills in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate , physical strength for heavy lifting, and familiarity with the care of horses of all types, ages and energy levels.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for horses, including feeding, blanketing, booting, turning in and out, mucking, sweeping, preparing feed, administering minor first aid and general housekeeping duties.
- Maintaining a clean and safe stable by mucking out stalls, replacing bedding, and managing manure disposal efficiently
- Assist with the handling of horses for farrier and vet.
- Monitor horses for signs of illness or injury and report concerns promptly to management.
Requirements
- Reliable transportation.
- Proven knowledge related to horses and their care.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely on a regular basis to handle feed bags, hay bales, and stable materials.
- Experience working with horses or livestock in a stable or farm setting required.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout long shifts in various weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety protocols at all times
- Willingness to learn new skills related to stable management and farm operations
