About the position:
Sidney Animal Hospital is a privately owned small animal hospital located in North Saanich, just a stone’s throw from beautiful Sidney B.C., and we are looking for a full-time receptionist to join our team. Veterinary experience would be an asset, but we are more than happy to train the right person. Our team supports each other, likes each other, and works hard for each other and our patients, and that is what we are looking for in our new team member.
The reception team maintains the ‘face’ of the hospital and plays a vital role in its day-to-day function. This position is one of dedication to our clients, patients, and our community and it requires someone that is calm, professional and solution oriented. The right candidate must like pets, and their people!
This position does require Saturdays but no evenings and will generally be 4 x 10hr shifts.

Description of duties:
Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and patients.
Ability to answer a multiline phone system and manage client requests to book appointments or order food and medications.
Communicating with clients and suppliers via email and on the phone.
Admitting and discharging patients, reviewing treatment plans, medications prescribed, and homecare instructions.
Processing invoices and taking payments.
General housekeeping duties and cleaning.
Liaising with veterinarians and technicians to address client inquiries.
Ensuring patient medical records are current and accurate.
