Position Summary
The Civil Labourer supports civil construction crews in various aspects of site preparation, excavation, utility installation, grading, and general construction activities. This role requires a strong work ethic, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team in outdoor environments.
Responsibilities
- Assist with excavation, trenching, backfilling, and grading operations
- Install and maintain underground utilities, including water, sewer, and storm systems
- Load, unload, and transport construction materials and equipment
- Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Perform site clean-up and maintain a safe, organized work environment
- Assist equipment operators and skilled tradespeople as required
- Follow company safety policies, procedures, and site-specific requirements
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisors and project managers
Qualifications Required:
- Previous construction or civil labour experience
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in varying weather conditions
- Strong understanding of safe work practices
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
