FIELD TECHNICIAN – AMBIENT AIR

As a FIELD TECHNICIAN – AMBIENT AIR, your main responsibilities are:

Calibration and maintenance of ambient air monitoring stations
Data collection and review of data to ensure accuracy
Ensuring instruments are ready for use
Responsible for the accuracy and timely submission of field reports.
Accountability to further develop knowledge of analyzers, data loggers, wind heads and general trailer installations.
Accountability to learn and adhere to Alberta Environment Air Monitoring Directive, and any future guidelines, and the protocols therein.
Accountability to learn and understand individual client ambient air monitoring needs.
Problem-solve solutions which solidify and increase customer trust in the company’s abilities to meet existing & future challenges.
Responsible for safe trailer transportation and general safe travel during both long and short trips.
Develop a strong and open working relationship with fellow employees.
Ensure adherence to Maxxam’s policies, ISO certificate and Partners in Safety membership.

You are the ideal FIELD TECHNICIAN - AMBIENT AIR if you have:
2 year environmental, chemistry or instrumentation diploma.
More than 3 years of experience directly related to ambient air quality instrumentation and repairing this instrumentation.
Ability to work under pressure with strict time constraints.
Good understanding of computers, mechanically inclined, good trouble shooting skills, good understanding of electronics, good driving skills.
Ethical, dynamic, energetic, motivated, wants to make a difference
Ability to safely pull and park trailers.
Required to keep work site clean and free of safety hazards.

Notes:
The majority of the work is out of town. Therefore, much driving is required, along with many nights away from home.
The work hours are 5 days per week, and 8 hours per day.
Must be willing to do routine lifting, travel out of town frequently, and overtime will also be necessary
Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License with no more than 6 demerits
Training will be provided
