The Ottawa Hospital is seeking a dynamic leader to join its Human Resources team in an exciting opportunity to serve as the Manager, Total Rewards & HR Operations. Reporting to the Director, Workforce Agility, the Manager, Total Rewards & HR Operations is responsible for leading a group of staff focused on service excellence and with expertise in the areas of total rewards, including compensation, classification, pension, and benefits, as well as core HR Operations and maintaining the integrity of the Human Resources Information System.
Working closely with the broader Human Resources team, the Manager, Total Rewards & HR Operations will develop the vision and implementation of Total Rewards strategies that are geared towards enhancing the overall work experience of staff, which in turn contributes to The Ottawa Hospital’s vision of providing each patient with world class care, exceptional service and compassion they would want for a loved one.
Days, 8 hour shifts.
What you will do
Provide exceptional leadership to the Total Rewards & HR Operations team to drive results through engagement, collaboration and results;
Build team members’ capabilities by providing leadership, coaching, and guidance on day-to-day operations;
Research, design, evaluate, implement and maintain total rewards programs while ensuring that our programs are competitive, consistent and support long-term organizational goals;
Act as a trusted advisor to senior management on Total Rewards & HR Operations matters and serve as the escalation point for inquiries;
Collaborate with other HR teams, union partners and various stakeholders to identify opportunities and identify areas of enhancements;
Ensure effective change management strategies are in place to ensure the successful implementation of any process or system changes;
Participate in various job evaluation committees to help the organization make sound and fair decisions regarding compensation ;
Assist with the standardization of complex processes that span across multiple portfolios;
Research, design, implement and maintain the system and its processes to contribute to an exceptional employee experience by delivering timely, high quality and user-friendly services through an accessible and employee-centric approach;
Continuously measure and monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of the Total Rewards & HR Operations team service delivery.
What you will bring
Undergraduate university degree in Human Resources, Business, Information Management (or related discipline);
Minimum of five years of progressive experience in HR with considerable experience managing corporate compensation, benefits, pension, and employee services programs;
Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of leadership/management experience;
Experience working with several different classification systems within an unionized organization, including large scale pay equity/ total reward exercises;
Experience working with human capital management systems and developing methodologies to leverage data to drive solid business decisions within the context of Human Resources;
Proven project management experience, including project scoping and planning, stakeholder engagement, project execution and project close-out;
Experience identifying process improvement opportunities, recommending solutions and executing on them;
Experience with managing the design, implementation, communications, and governance of a compensation framework;
Experience with providing advice to senior management and internal clients on all matters related to compensation , benefits, pension and HR Operations;
Ability to analyze problems, develop and assess solutions and provide recommendations in a clear and compelling manner;
Ability to establish and develop effective working relationships with others and foster collaboration between diverse groups in order to drive positive change;
Ability to lead with focus, including strong prioritization, planning and follow-through;
Ability to build strong relationships with others and foster collaboration.
You will stand out with:
Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) and/or Certified Compensation Professional (CCP);
Certified Human Resources Professional or other Certification in Human Resources Management;
Experience with Oracle Peoplesoft HRIS;
Experience working within the health care sector;
Proficiency in English & French – oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
