Independent Supply Company is a distributor wholesaler catering to the Commercial and Residential HVAC/R industry and we have an immediate full-time opening for an experienced Lead Warehouse Associate.
Job Summary
Warehouse Associates are responsible for counting, verifying, receiving, and putting away incoming vendor material and customer returns; and for picking, packing and shipping customer orders.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
-
Receiving Duties:
-
Unload vendor shipments and returns, obtain packing slips and verify materials received. Note any discrepancies or damage.

Print and verify receiving documents and enter received materials into the system
-
Give all received items a proper location in the computer system (this is vital to proper inventory management)

Identify specials orders or damaged product and store in proper location
-
Note all shipping discrepancies on Bill of Lading, initiate freight claims and forward to appropriate teammate
- Picking, Packing & Shipping Duties:
-
Pick items for customer orders
-
Assemble order and pack appropriately for pick-up or shipping
-
Complete shipping documentation including TDG forms (as required)
- Inform Operations Manager of any inventory discrepancies, damaged/defective/non-saleable materials as these impact customer service

Maintain warehouse cleanliness and safety. Remove empty cartons, metal banding, pallets and other debris. Inform Profit Center Manager and Health & Safety Champion of any safety issues.

Assist teammates in servicing customers as required

Other duties as assigned
Environmental Conditions
You will be exposed to the following conditions in your job:
-
Outdoor weather with no climate control
-
Warehouse with limited climate control
-
Potentially hazardous equipment – forklifts, ladders, hand trucks, strapping, hand tools etc.
-
The Profit Center stocks, sells and uses hazardous materials such as refrigerants, PVC cement, solvents and other chemicals. You will be required to handle these materials.
Qualifications
Skills and Qualifications

Grade 12 education or equivalence
-
Minimum 1 year experience in a warehouse environment

Accuracy and attention to detail

Outstanding customer service and verbal communication skills

Able to develop comprehensive product knowledge

Able to safely operate a forklift and any other warehouse equipment

Able to work independently with some direction
-
Comfortable in fast-paced environment

Team player who works productively with wide range of people

Manages time effectively and adapts quickly to changing priorities

Stand/walk for duration of work hours
-
Lift/carry/maneuver heavy material or equipment
Preferred Skills

Able to safely operate a forklift and other warehouse equipment

Previous experience with or knowledge of products sold in the HVAC/R Industry.

Experience using Trend, Eclipse, Word, Excel, and Outlook
