As the Scrum Master you will facilitate the Agile/Scrum hybrid processes, escalate impediments, manage risk, promote architectural strength, and help to drive continuous improvements at the project level within LifeLabs.
The Scrum Master will lead Agile teams with autonomy and accountability through key ceremonies such as daily scrums, sprint planning, retrospectives and demonstrations. The Scrum Master is also responsible for ensuring that sprints are on time and that the teams are ready for their deadlines
This is a full time permanent role located at 3500 Gilmore Way, Burnaby.
Accountabilities: Facilitate development team meetings by scheduling and coordinating them as well as encouraging constructive communication and guidance of topics throughout the meeting. Manage risks and dependencies as well as identify and remove impediments. Review and understands metrics and other key performance indicators (KPI) in order to drive continuous improvement for the sprint teams. Coordinate elements of the release plan (such as RFC’s, Release Notes and Implementation plans) with the development team and other technology staff outside of the project and encourage architect and team collaboration. Establish performance of the sprint teams through continuous improvement, building leadership skills and inspiring leadership in others. Effectively communicate project/enhancement status, including risks and dependencies to Management Partner with Product Owner/Application Owner/Business Relationship Manager, to plan sprints and effectively create, maintain and refine the product/application backlog Help employees and stakeholders understand and enact scrum and welcoming change that enhances the productivity of the team Working with other Scrum Masters to facilitate increasing organization maturity and effectiveness in the application of Scrum across the organization Track and report overall projects progress, identify risk and escalate as appropriate Work proactively with the finance team to forecast and report costs
Requirements: University degree in business or technical discipline 4 years’ minimum experience in a similar role Experience utilizing scrum process within roles beyond just technical knowledge Experience with VSTS & Incident Management Systems (i.e. Altiris, Service Now) Extensive knowledge of the Agile development process and best practices Demonstrated ability to influence and coach teams towards high performance in an Agile environment Knowledge of diverse Cloud Service offerings (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure etc.) Technical understanding of web application development UI Design and Usability experience an asset
