Jasper Place Wellness Centre is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Health Care Aide to join our multidisciplinary team at our Transitional Housing in West Edmonton
RESPONSIBILITY
- Performs light housekeeping duties in resident suites and common areas.
- Supports residents with personal care activities, including dressing, bathing, and incontinence care.
- Assists with support individuals with basic needs this includes site monitoring, meal deliveries, assistance with basic needs, and rapport and relationship development. • Responds calmly and effectively to medical emergencies.
- Provides assistance with resident laundry and meal service as needed. • Collaborates with client to ensure their care needs are met.
- Promotes accident and injury prevention through safe work practices and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support operational needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Recognized Health Care Aide Certificate or equivalent
- Grade 12 or GED • CPR/BCLS • Registration with the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory
- A clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening
- Food Safe Basic or equivalent
- Able to communicate information in English both verbally and in writing
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal courteously and positively with residents/clients.
- Physically and mentally fit to perform the duties of the position (may be required to lift, move, push, or pull objects weighing up to 75 pounds)
- Ability to work on his/her feet for a complete shift while constantly bending, stretching, walking, lifting, or moving things.
- Experience working with Indigenous peoples and individuals from diverse cultures • Experience working with marginalized communities
- Experience working in a Harm-Reduction Framework and Setting
- Experience using Naloxone and Responding to Overdoses
