The Edmonton Humane Society is looking for a Dog Daycare Attendant to join our team. Reporting to the Team Lead,

this individual will supervise and care for customer-owned dogs in our Canine Enrichment Center daycare to facilitate

positive social interaction and enrichment.

Duties:
  • Provide superior customer service in person, by telephone, or email
  • Effectively and professionally communicate health and behavior concerns with clients
  • Assist with behavioral assessments when required
  • Check dogs in or out of daycare, ensuring attendance is correct and complete
  • Record any daily notes for our daycare dogs and Clients
  • Clean and maintain common dog daycare areas to high standards of sanitization, ensure all areas of the CEC
are clean, organized and surpass our standards each day

  • Supervise groups or individual dogs in play to maintain a safe, healthy environment using positive reinforcement
  • Exercise dogs both physically and mentally when required
  • Facilitate rest times for daycare attendees
  • Provide coverage for breaks as necessary
  • Assist with added services (Nail trims, Brush outs, Spa Day)
  • Process payments (daycare passes, added services, Central Bark off-leash park, and training classes) and keep
accurate records in POS system

  • Conduct closing procedures, balancing cash drawer, and delivering drop bag
Job Requirements:
  • High School Diploma
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • POS and cash handling experience considered an asset
  • Strong computer skills
  • A calm demeanor and positive attitude
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Must be physically fit and be comfortable working in all types of weather and with varying equipment and with
all breeds of dogs

  • Experience working with dogs using positive reinforcement techniques and reading dog body language &
behavior correctly is considered an asset

  • First Aid would be considered an asset
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand for up to 8 hours, bend repetitively, and use cleaning products to disinfect and sanitize
  • Desire to learn and update education on modern, compassionate dog care and positive reinforcement
training methods

  • Reliable Transportation
Wage and Hours:
  • Compensation will commensurate with the successful candidate’s experience and qualifications. The EHS
offers a competitive Not-For-Profit compensation package which includes a comprehensive benefits package.

  • 40 hours per week. Must be flexible and able to work occasional weekends, evenings and overtime.
