Position: Cash Applications Representative
Location: Concord, On
Salary: $48,000-$52,000
Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm (In Office)
Key Responsibilities
- Process and accurately apply daily customer payments, including EFTs, cheques, wire transfers, credit cards and electronic portal payments, using available remittance information.
- Review bank deposits and payment reports to ensure all funds are accounted for and posted within established timelines.
- Contact customers or internal teams to obtain missing or incomplete remittance details.
- Research and resolve unidentified payments, unapplied cash, short payments, overpayments, duplicate payments and other payment discrepancies.
- Process approved payment transfers, reversals and account corrections while maintaining complete supporting documentation.
- Reconcile daily cash receipts to bank activity, ERP postings and general ledger totals.
- Communicate cash application issues to Accounts Receivable and Credit, assist with account reconciliations, and provide payment documentation when requested.
- Support month-end closing, reporting, internal controls and audits.
- Contribute to process improvements and the implementation of automated cash application tools and customer payment platforms.
Qualifications
- One to three years of experience in cash applications, accounts receivable, accounting or a related financial role.
- Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and demonstrated commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to process a high volume of transactions while meeting daily deadlines.
- Strong analytical, reconciliation and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with ERP, banking or payment-processing systems is preferred.
- Experience with Infor M3, SX.e, VersaPay, Rimilia or BlackLine is considered an asset.
