Job Overview
WINTEC is seeking a Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic experienced in maintaining and repairing road construction equipment in a shop environment. The ideal candidate is skilled in diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, brake, suspension, and drivetrain systems on heavy-duty trucks and construction machinery. Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance, computerized diagnostics, technical manuals, and Manitoba safety standards is required, along with the ability to work independently and in fast-paced construction operations.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, inspect, and repair equipment to ensure proper performance and identify faults or malfunctions.
- Use computerized diagnostic tools and testing equipment to determine the extent of repairs required.
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, servicing, cleaning, and lubrication of equipment.
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems using hand and power tools.
- Test repaired equipment to ensure work meets manufacturer specifications and Wintec’s policies.
- Interpret work orders and technical manuals accurately.
- Work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

- Conduct inspections in accordance with Manitoba safety standards.
Qualifications
- Red Seal certification in Heavy-duty truck and trailer mechanic considered an asset.
- Minimum 3 years of experience
- Valid Class 5 licence required.
- Class 1 or 3 licence an asset.
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be safety and team orientated.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 100 lbs and performing manual labour
