Verbeek Kitchens has been serving homeowners, builders, contractors, and developers across Southwestern Ontario since 1977. We specialize in kitchen and bathroom cabinetry, from production and builder projects to fully custom designs.
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Kitchen & Bath Designer / Draftsperson to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background or education in interior design, architectural technology, drafting, or a related field who wants to build a career in the kitchen and cabinetry industry.
The Position
The Junior Designer / Draftsperson will work closely with our experienced designers and sales team to prepare kitchen, bathroom, and cabinetry drawings for residential and multi-unit projects.
This is primarily a design, drafting, and project support position, with the opportunity to take on more design and customer responsibilities as experience develops.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare kitchen, bathroom, and other cabinetry layouts using 2020 Design
- Create accurate floor plans, elevations, perspectives, and detailed drawings
- Assist senior designers with preparing projects for quoting, ordering, and production
- Review architectural plans, measurements, specifications, and customer selections
- Make drawing revisions based on designer, customer, builder, or site feedback
- Ensure cabinetry drawings are accurate and meet company standards
- Assist with product selections, finishes, hardware, countertops, and accessories
- Maintain organized and accurate project files
- Communicate with designers, suppliers, installers, and other team members
- Assist with site measurements and project mark-outs when required
- Help prepare documentation for builder, renovation, and custom projects
- Develop the skills necessary to eventually manage projects more independently
Qualifications
- Education or experience in Interior Design, Architectural Technology, Drafting, Kitchen & Bath Design, or a related field is preferred
- Experience with 2020 Design is a strong asset
- AutoCAD or other drafting/design software experience is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to read floor plans and architectural drawings
- Comfortable working with dimensions and measurements
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced designers
- Cabinetry or construction knowledge is an asset but not required

The ideal candidate does not need to come to us as an experienced kitchen designer. We are looking for someone who is organized, technically minded, creative, and extremely detail-oriented.

Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
