What is the Opportunity?
As a member of the Enterprise Risk Reporting team this position plays a key role in the development and production of reports and presentations Shareholders, Regulators, Senior Management, the Chief Risk Officer, and the Board of Directors. The reports produced must be complete, accurate, timely, transparent, consistent and concise, while meeting requirements of regulators, financial reporting standards and internal management. The team strives to continuously improve reporting efficiency and effectiveness.
What will you do?
Prepare, review, and analyze various reports provided to our regulators (e.g. OSFI and the Bank of Canada), external shareholders (via the Report to Shareholders, the Supplementary Package, and other Investor Relations materials), and internal senior management.
Partner with Group Risk Management, Finance, Capital Measurement and other teams to ensure reporting is timely, accurate, complete and consistent.
Responsible for the development and maintenance of comprehensive external risk disclosure documentation which is SOX compliant leading to satisfactory internal and external audits.
Execute on enhancements of risk disclosures, processes and capabilities to meet future requirements (including new requirements from regulators) and keep abreast of regulatory changes impacting risk disclosures.
Continually enhance report content, controls and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness (e.g. automation, authoritative data sourcing, reconciliation, etc.)
Ensure risk data disclosures are consistent with certain internal risk reports. Coordinate early identification and resolution of key issues.
What do you need to succeed?
A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in the financial services industry, with an in-depth knowledge of financial and/or risk reporting
Strong problem solving, analytical, research and quantitative skills
Excellent presentation and communication (verbal and written) skills
Commitment to quality and accuracy with a high level of attention to detail
Team player and ability to perform under strict time constraints
Strong time management, organizational skills and project management capabilities
Nice to Have:
Experience working with RBC data sources (ESN, RWCA, EPM, CCMS, etc.)
Expertise using MS Access, SQL, Teradata or Tableau
Sound knowledge of credit risk and terminology
Previous experience in process innovation, development and improvement in reporting
CPA-CA/CMA/CGA, CFA or other finance/accounting certificate (or working towards one)
