Thinking Big is seeking a Senior Microsoft Software Developer for a long-term contract opportunity supporting the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC). The successful resource will have extensive experience designing, developing, implementing, and supporting solutions across the Microsoft ecosystem, including Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Teams, SharePoint, Microsoft Graph, Dataverse, Azure/Entra ID, Power BI, and related development tools.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Work with clients and users to understand business goals, user needs, impacted processes, automation, scale, and reporting requirements.\
- Assess data ownership, stewardship, integrity, migration needs, and data flows across Microsoft applications.
- Map business needs to Microsoft capabilities and compare solution options based on simplicity, sustainability, cost, and governance.
- Recommend technology patterns and approaches, including risks and mitigation strategies.
- Design, build, test, implement, and maintain Microsoft solutions using reusable and scalable components.
- Develop Microsoft Planner integrations using the Planner API.
- Develop SharePoint solutions and manage Teams using Microsoft Graph API.
- Build Power Automate cloud flows using standard and custom connectors for automation and orchestration.
- Integrate solutions with Azure Active Directory / Microsoft Entra ID Single Sign-On.
- Create Teams Canvas Power Apps and custom components using Power Apps Component Framework (PCF).
- Develop Power BI reports and dashboards and integrate enterprise/Common Dataverse data.
- Develop using Visual Studio with C#, .NET and Python, and Visual Studio Code with JavaScript, TypeScript and Node.js.
- Create detailed solution and support documentation and provide knowledge transfer and hands-on walkthroughs.
Qualifications
Mandatory:
- Minimum 10 years of experience within the last 15 years performing senior Microsoft solution-development work across the solution lifecycle.
- Must hold at least one current certification: PL-400 Microsoft Power Platform Developer Associate OR PL-600 Microsoft Power Platform Solution Architect Expert.
- Minimum 5 years of experience within the last 10 years in EACH of: Microsoft Planner API; SharePoint using Microsoft Graph API; Teams using Microsoft Graph API; Power Automate cloud flows using standard and custom connectors; Azure AD/Entra ID SSO integration; Teams Canvas Power Apps and PCF custom components; Power BI reports/dashboards; and Dataverse integration.
- Minimum 5 years of experience within the last 10 years using Visual Studio with C#, .NET and Python, and Visual Studio Code with JavaScript, TypeScript and Node.js.
Preferred:
- Development experience within the last 10 years with AI Agents/Copilot, Teams Message Extensions, Teams Adaptive Cards, Teams SDK, Teams Developer CLI, and Teams Toolkit and/or Microsoft 365 Agents Toolkit integrated with Visual Studio Code.

Pay: $86,153.78-$179,140.33 per year
