Telecommunications Technician

Our growing company is currently looking to hire Telecommunications Technician to join our team, based out of our Medicine Hat office. The ideal candidate will have the proven ability to be a self-motivated team player with a can-do attitude and looks forward to growing personally and professionally with CDN. AS OUR TELECOMMUNICATIONS TECHNICIAN, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE TO:

Execute fibre optic network installations, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Pull cable and install conduit to connect devices to network racks.

Set up IP networks and install various security and environmental devices.

Conduct terminations, testing, and maintenance of fibre optic networks.

Boost cell and Wi-Fi signals and install phone systems.

Troubleshoot and repair equipment to maintain network functionality.

Maintain detailed records and generate reports on network performance.

Follow safety protocols and regulations for a secure work environment.

Collaborate with teams to optimize network performance and provide technical support.

Manage projects efficiently with a limited crew, including site surveys and estimates.

Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
-
5-10 years experience
-
Fiber Splicing and testing experience.
-
Networking experience – Ubiquiti Switches
-
WIFI bridging Experience.
-
Structured Cabling Experience
-
Ability to manage small projects.
-
Ability to mentor junior technicians.
-
Conduct presurvey for estimates
