We’re looking for a motivated, reliable, and skilled Handyman/Maintenance Technician who takes pride in quality workmanship and enjoys solving problems every day.
What You’ll Be Doing
No two days are the same. You may be responsible for:
- Apartment maintenance and unit turnovers
- Drywall repairs, patching, mudding and texture matching
- Interior painting and touch-ups
- Door, lock and hardware repairs
- Baseboard, trim and finish carpentry
- Flooring repairs and installation
- Caulking and finishing work
- Minor plumbing repairs
- Minor electrical repairs (where legally permitted)
- Appliance installations and repairs (training available)
- Cabinet and countertop repairs
- Flood damage demolition and restoration
- Building common area maintenance
- Preventative maintenance inspections
- Exterior property repairs
- General renovations and repairs
- Emergency maintenance response when required
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate:
- Has 3+ years of handyman or maintenance experience
- Has experience working in occupied apartment buildings
- Can work independently with minimal supervision
- Has excellent problem-solving skills
- Is professional with tenants and property managers
- Maintains a clean, organized work vehicle
- Takes pride in quality workmanship
- Is dependable and punctual
- Can prioritize multiple service calls
- Is physically capable of lifting 50 lbs and working on ladders
- Has strong communication skills
Requirements
- Valid BC Driver’s Licence
- Reliable vehicle (company vehicle opportunities available)
- Basic hand and power tools
- Smartphone for scheduling and documentation
- Ability to pass a criminal record check
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
Assets (Not Required)
- Painting experience
- Carpentry experience
- Flooring installation
- Drywall finishing
- Flood restoration experience
- Appliance repair experience
- First Aid certification
- WHMIS certification
