Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to provide high-quality care to individuals in our retirement community. The ideal candidate will have experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities. This role involves assisting with daily activities, medication administration, meal preparation, and maintaining a safe and clean environment. A strong commitment to caregiving and enhancing clients' quality of life is essential.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide companionship and emotional support to seniors and individuals with disabilities
- Administer medications accurately according to care plans
- Support clients with meal preparation and feeding as needed
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and laundry to ensure a safe environment
- Monitor clients’ health status and report any changes or concerns to healthcare professionals or family members
- Follow care plans diligently while respecting clients’ dignity and preferences
- Support clients experiencing dementia or other cognitive impairments with patience and understanding
Skills
- Prior experience in assisted living, or home care environments preferred
- Knowledge of senior care, dementia care, and working with individuals with disabilities
- Ability to administer medications safely and accurately
- Strong caregiving skills combined with compassion and patience
- Excellent communication skills for interacting effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams
- Ability to perform light cleaning and meal preparation tasks efficiently
- Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed for client care
