Centras Engineering Ltd. is a civil engineering firm based in South Surrey focused on land development and municipal capital infrastructure projects throughout British Columbia, with a focus on Metro Vancouver and Fraser Valley.
We’re looking for a full-time Civil Inspector to join our construction team.
This role is well suited for someone who is practical, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment. The position involves daily site inspections, contractor coordination, and working directly with contractors, developers, and municipal staff to help keep projects on schedule. Experience with land development and/or municipal capital construction projects is preferred. MMCD experience is considered an asset.
Typical Project Types
- Off-site roadworks and underground utilities, including storm, sanitary, and watermain construction
- ESC works
- On-site civil lot servicing
Duties
- Civil CAD drafting and design
- Reviewing and analyzing as-built drawings
- Preparing engineering designs and calculations
- Attending project meetings and reporting on progress
- Coordinating with contractors, municipalities, and internal teams
- Conducting civil site inspections for design compliance
- Monitoring construction progress and documenting with field reports
- Sampling and assessing erosion and sediment control systems

Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum one year of civil inspection experience, or a minimum of five years of construction experience
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Practical understanding of civil construction methods
- Valid BC Driver's Licence
