We are currently looking for an experienced Business Development Manager, Fall Protection to focus on driving specification at Key End-User Accounts and increase Fall Protection knowledge within our sales team and channel partners. This is an important and Strategic role responsible for assisting with the creation and execution of our fall protection strategic growth plan in Canada. Primary responsibilities will include aggressive YoY market share growth through the identification of target end user customers in Canada and developing relationships with them personally and through our field sales team to drive maximum YoY sustainable profitable growth. Resource planning in terms of developing the category competence and sales skills of key field sales team and distribution members will also be critical for long term success. The ideal candidate lives near a major airport and has worked in Fall Protection sales across multiple key segments like, construction, Oil & Gas, telecom, wind energy, and electrical utility industry.
Overall Scope
You will be responsible for visiting end users in several industries, conducting product knowledge sessions/product demonstrations, holding presentations to purchasing & safety departments, training territory reps and key channel partners, conducting joint calls with distributor sales representatives, working with our territory reps and distribution network to expedite the sales, setting up and attending trade shows, and attending customer open houses.
This successful candidate will have an extensive background selling safety products. Not only do you understand the products, their features, and benefits, but are deeply specialized in safety and productive use of these product and the application in various industries. This position will report directly to the GM of Fall Protection with a dotted line to the VP Sales, US. This role is considered remote and may travel up to 50%.
Key Responsibilities:

.Evaluate customers’ needs and build productive long-lasting relationships by being a Fall Protection resource and use solution selling techniques to win
- Develop and mentor territory sales managers through on-boarding, open communication, training and development opportunities
- Use existing contacts and build new contacts to maintain an active funnel of End User accounts.

Fielding troubleshooting calls from users and distributors, product and safety training development and delivery.

Assist GM with target acquisitions and integration

Support trade shows and other company-sponsored events as required.

Respond to questions and concerns from customers and sales and service staff.

Schedule and conduct site walk-throughs, identify prevention measures, partner with teams, and provide solution response recommendations.

Build relationships and trust with Regional Sales Managers, Strategic Account Managers and Territory Account Managers.

“Get the sale” using various sales methods (prospecting, cold calling, presentations etc.).

Generate and cultivate end user leads.

Attend meetings, weekly conference calls, sales events, and training to keep abreast of the latest developments.

Maintain and expand end user database.

Understand the competitive landscape and products while discussing with the customer the best solution for their business and SureWerx value proposition.

Daily CRM logs and other administrative duties.

Demonstrate knowledge of market data and respond quickly to new developments in the end customer’s business.

Other duties and projects will be assigned as required.
Education and Competencies:

A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in Fall Protection Sales
- Technical sales training
- Excellent presentation skills.

Ability to build strong relationships.

Experience in developing channel and/or installer networks.

Ability to understand, work with and relay technical product specifications.

Experience managing a territory and an account base.

Experience working with CRM's.
