Job Overview
We are seeking a Social Media Intern to support content creation, branding, and digital marketing for our tutoring organization. This is a paid, remote, contract-based summer position ideal for students or individuals interested in social media, marketing, and education-based content creation.
The role involves creating engaging social media posts, supporting promotional campaigns, and helping grow our online presence across Instagram and TikTok.
Duties
- Create and design social media posts using Canva templates provided by the company
- Develop engaging content for Instagram and TikTok aligned with brand campaigns
- Write clear and engaging captions for educational and promotional posts
- Support marketing campaigns, including summer programs, September enrolment, back-to-school offers, and general brand awareness
- Schedule and publish content consistently across social media platforms
- Repurpose and adapt content across Instagram and TikTok formats
- Contribute ideas for content themes, trends, and engagement strategies
- Maintain consistent branding across all visual and written content
- Monitor basic engagement metrics such as likes, views, and comments
- Ensure content is delivered on schedule and meets basic quality expectations
Requirements
- Strong interest in social media, digital marketing, or content creation
- Basic understanding of the Instagram and TikTok platforms
- Familiarity with Canva (or willingness to learn quickly)
- Strong creativity and ability to turn ideas into engaging visual content
- Good written communication skills for captions and messaging
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Ability to meet weekly content deadlines without constant supervision
- Applicants must be currently residing in Canada and legally eligible to work in Canada.
Preferred (Not Mandatory):
- Experience managing personal or school social media accounts
- Basic video editing skills (CapCut, InShot, or similar tools)
- Understanding of social media trends and engagement strategies
- Interest in education, tutoring, or student-focused content
Required Equipment
- Laptop or desktop computer with a reliable internet connection
- Access to Canva (provided by the company)
- Access to Instagram and TikTok (company accounts provided)
- Basic ability to use Google Drive / Google Docs for file sharing and planning
Availability
This is a flexible remote role with an expected workload of approximately 5 hours per week. Work is output-based rather than strictly time-tracked.
A weekly content rhythm is expected, with deadlines aligned to campaign schedules and posting requirements.
