Commercial Insurance Underwriter
Working under minimal supervision, the Underwriter – Commercial Lines (Lloyd's Coverholder) , assists the organization to ensure insurance coverage for the clients comprehensive. A key technical resource and subject matter expert for both employees and managers. This role will be responsible for Lloyd's book of business.
Job Responsibilities
- Lloyd's Coverholder
- Strategic Initiatives, including technological advancements.
- Rate and Product Development.
- Regulatory Changes and Reporting.
- Lloyd's Benchmarks.
- Ability to research and analyze industry and company data
- Technical assistance and trainer to staff to ensure everyone is aware of changes
- Mentor and develop team members and facilitate sessions for the sharing of knowledge and best practices.
- Perform risk analysis using technology as well as external data sources for the purposes of quoting, negotiating and authorizing the acceptance of risk.
- Foster positive working relationships with internal and external parties, including other regional offices and networking at industry events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous Lloyd's experience or Underwriting experience
- 5+ years of Commercial Property & Casualty mid-market industry experience.
- Post-secondary education
- Completed or in progress – CAIB or CIP
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to review the information carefully and comprehensively.
- Analytical, and problem solving with the ability to select and implement best solutions.
- Decision-making skills with the ability to provide justification.
- Customer service skills.
- Clear communication skills.
- Strong leadership skills to positively influence team members and provide direction.
- Strong ability to multi-task and monitor progress to meet deadlines.
