The Home Depot Canada’s public relations (PR) and executive communications team is seeking a creative and results-driven PR Specialist who is passionate about creating engaging brand communications for Canada’s leading home improvement retailer. Reporting to the PR and communications manager, this individual will be responsible for helping the team maintain and build brand trust by producing integrated media campaigns and social media content partnerships.

Increase public awareness of Home Depot’s innovative products, interconnected capabilities and corporate values
Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams and external agencies of record to develop and execute strategic integrated media campaigns
Develop and maintain strong relationships with lifestyle, news and corporate media partners including influencers/content creators
Proactively share insights on new measurement tools, industry news, new media channel opportunities that support continued business development
Develop various communication materials that are clear and consistent across channels including: pitches, look books, corporate statements, briefing documents, etc.
Prepare and provide media training to spokespeople for consumer and corporate media opportunities
Provide relevant news updates to key business stakeholders
Triage and support issues and crisis management including partnership with social media and customer care teams
Experience / Knowledge Required:
Internal Candidates: Must fulfill minimum time-in-position (1 year) and performance management code requirements (M+, Meets expectation, Consistently demonstrates).
3+ years of experience in public relations, communications or brand management
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a passion for storytelling
A strong working knowledge of emerging media and content platforms
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining attention to detail
Retail, digital media and/or content marketing experience considered an asset
Bilingualism (English and French) an asset
