TITLE: English Copywriter/Editor
DEPARTMENT: Marketing and Brand Communication

SCOPE
The English Copywriter/Editor will be responsible for creating and editing engaging copy that aligns with Air Canada Vacations’ brand voice and company values. They will create and proofread all marketing, promotional and editorial copy for all Air Canada Vacations communication touchpoints.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create copy for Air Canada Vacations campaigns (B2C & B2B), and marketing material including, but not restricted to: newsletters, print, website, social media, advertisements and sponsored articles, radio, billboards, brochures, and video.
- Participate in marketing campaign meetings with other key players to understand the company’s expectations relating to marketing content
- Work with the in-house marketing and creative team to develop creative concepts
- Write editorial copy (blogs, destination content), as needed
- Collaborate with other teams including Ecommerce, Customer Care and Sales to define and execute on copy requirements
- Review copy provided by other copywriters, as well as marketing material, including material featuring the Air Canada Vacations brand provided by third parties
- Understand different language styles that appeal to various target markets
- Maintain a clear and consistent brand voice
- Stay in the know on marketing trends and competitors’ marketing activities
- Support Content Manager, as needed
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Undergraduate degree in English, Communications, Journalism or equivalent
- 3-4 years of copywriting and editing experience
- Excellent communication and proofreading skills
- Experience developing marketing concepts
- Ability to balance technical and creative writing
- Superior attention to detail
- Autonomous, able to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Strong team player
- High degree of accountability
- Excellent grammar and spelling skills
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office
- Advertising agency experience an asset
