Hi there, we’re Article. We’re an online furniture company creating remarkably better furniture experiences one sofa at a time. The In-Studio Styling Assistant will support Article’s In-House Stylist and Production Team by creating high-quality photography and video assets for our new and existing products.
Please note***: This is NOT a full-time position, nor would you be an employee at Article. We are looking for someone who can commit to 9-12 days per month and we will offer a multi-month freelance contract - you will still meet with the team and in that meeting, they will assess if you will be a fit for future work.
While we search for the person we will also be assessing people for future work and let you know if we’d like to add you to the list if additional work arises.
Why We Need You:
We are looking to build our “call list” for Freelance Set Stylist Assistants. Right now we have a small list but would like to expand it. We are looking to schedule shoots a month at a time so you will have set dates throughout the month.
Team Structure: The freelancer will work directly with our in-house photography and video team. It consists of the Manager of Photography and Video, Set Stylist, Photo Editor, and our Video Lead.
Site Location: Article HQ - Vancouver, BC
Daily Rate: $300-$330/day (Based on experience)

Support our Lead Stylist to prep and stage sets based on key Article products.
- Support with the sourcing of appropriate props to include in sets.
- Support with sourcing maintenance materials for sets eg. paint, wood stains, etc.
- Keep up to date with our product catalog, ensuring an understanding of our product offering and our core merchandising looks.
- Supporting the Lead Stylist in ensuring the impeccable presentation of sets, including steaming soft products and linens, framing art, floral arranging, etc.
- Ensuring sets are clean before photographing ie. floors are swept, walls are clean, the product is dust free, etc.
- Help to support with general studio organization and maintenance.

1 + years experience working on set or in the interior industry is preferred.
- You are proactive and happy with hands-on physical work.
- You are detail-oriented and have an eye for color and composition.
- Must be organized and flexible.
- Have an interest in the interior and home decor Industry.
- Has a valid BC driver's license and access to a vehicle.
- Has experience working with Photographers and Art Directors.
- Has a collaborative approach to working and is open to feedback on your work.
