Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Press Operator to join our production team. The press Operator is responsible for operating stamping presses (up to 1200 ton press machines) and related equipment to manufacture high-quality automotive components in accordance with production scheduled, quality standards, and safety requirements.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working in a fast-paces manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform start-up checks and ensure proper machine setup
- Inspect parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specification
- Monitor press operations and identify defects or equipment issues
- Perform basic troubleshooting and notify supervisor or maintenance as required
- Complete production and quality documentation accurately
- Support continuous improvement and productivity initiatives
- Work collaboratively with Tool Room, Quality, and production teams
- Inspect press and tooling at the beginning of each shift, and operate and set up press
- Complete First and Last Off procedures
- Loading, unloading and storing of tooling equipment
Related Work Experience/Skills/Job Requirement
- Must have knowledge of operating presses for both manual and progressive dies and know how to set tooling for all presses
- Experience with measuring equipment
- Forklift and overhead crane experience would be considered an asset
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Must be able to read, speak and write English and basic math skills
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must have experience in starting and shutting down of all equipment necessary to run appropriate press
- Knowledge of press controls and tooling protection or other pieces of equipment to run a press
- Ability to order or to have in stock all necessary equipment and parts required for quick die change
- Knowledge of how to use die cart and die tables
- Ability to input production data into the system and follow required schedule
- Ability to operate safely 10 to 40 ton cranes with appropriate sling or chain. Must have training certificate
- Must have knowledge to properly set counter balance air according to tool weight
- Experience in tooling set-up with roll feeders and die protection
- Ability to load coils on uncoilers, preparation for use, and start strip through die
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
