Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized and motivated book-keeper to join our team.
The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a commitment to providing exceptional support in a fast-paced legal office.
This role involves assisting lawyer(s) with various tasks, ensuring that all book-keeping and accounting documentation is accurate and delivered in timely fashion, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the legal practice.
Duties of book-keeper
- Provide book-keeping and administrative support to lawyers and paralegals, including managing legal accounting software.
- Perform data entry and maintain organized filing.
- Assist in project management by tracking deadlines and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Utilize Esilaw (now called Unity Accounting) for managing client files/accounting.
- Utilize Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel) and Adobe for document management and collaboration within the team.
- Maintain professional phone etiquette while communicating with clients, courts, and all others.
- Support clerical functions such as scanning, copying, and faxing documents as needed.
Requirements for Book-keeper position
- Works closely with and takes all direction from managing lawyer.
- Must be present in office at all times to support legal team.
- Must have proven administrative experience in a legal setting specific to barrister aka litigation practice (not solicitor work).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Familiarity with data entry processes and maintaining accurate records.
- Excellent computer and word processing skills are essential with proven skills in Adobe, Word, Excel and Unity Accounting.
- Proven problem solving skills and research skills to determine how to solve book-keeping and administrative issues.
THIS POSITION DOES NOT PERMIT ANY REMOTE HOURS WHATSOEVER DUE TO NATURE OF THE POSITION AND MAY REQUIRE TRAVEL BETWEEN TWO OFFICES WITHIN THREE HOURS OF THE CITY OF PRINCE GEORGE WITHIN NORTHERN BC.

Pay: $18.25-$30.00 per hour
