Sheet Metal Fabrication Technician / Shop Labourer

We are a busy sheet metal fabrication shop specializing in custom roofing flashings and ACM (Aluminum Composite Material) panel production. We are seeking a motivated, reliable individual to join our team in a full-time shop position. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and play a key role in helping meet internal and external demands, especially during our busy summer season.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate custom sheet metal flashings for commercial and residential roofing projects
- Operate fabrication equipment including brakes, shears, and CNC machinery
- Assist with ACM panel production and assembly
- Read and interpret shop drawings, specifications, and work orders
- Package and prepare orders for shipment or customer pickup
- Load, unload, and move materials safely using a forklift
- Receive incoming material shipments and organize inventory
- Transport raw materials and finished products throughout the shop as required
- Assist with material handling and inventory control
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all company safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times while on the production floor
- Work efficiently to meet production deadlines and customer requirements
Qualifications
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence required
- Experience in sheet metal fabrication, manufacturing, construction, roofing, or a related industry is considered an asset
- Forklift certification or previous forklift experience is considered an asset
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn fabrication equipment and processes
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately and work with detailed dimensions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on your feet throughout the workday
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Safety Requirements
- Steel-toe safety boots are mandatory at all times on the shop floor
- Approved safety glasses are required at all times in production areas
- Cut-resistant gloves must be worn when handling sheet metal and fabricated products
- Compliance with all company safety policies and procedures is mandatory
